It's the holidays and employees want to be home with their families. Yet who is available if an emergency arises? Or, what happens if early in the new year there is a snowstorm and no one can get to the office? Will your business be able to navigate these pitfalls? You can if you have your employees setup remote offices.
Everyone should have the capability to work even if they cannot get to the office. Create a secure way to access email, sign into the network, and pull up documents. Have a phone tree in place so if the office is closed or people need to work from home, that information can be quickly shared. Then, you can use this alternative working situation when needed. Have someone on call in case of emergency over the holiday, able to address concerns from home if needed. Reward employees with greater flexibility, letting them work from home when necessary.
Once you have employees setup home office capabilities, you will open up options for running the business both from the office and remotely.Labels: Phone System, Small Business
